In the photo, Srila Prabhupada in her apartment, when she first moved to 26th of 2nd Avenue, New York, in the summer of 1966, temple and residence in the same place. Note that she is holding a pillow, that is because Srila Prabhupada worked and slept in the same place, without bed or bedroom, without furniture. Her desk was an old metal suitcase from India. What amazed me at the innocent age of 18 was how Srila Prabhupada worked, slept, ate, wore tilaka, gayatri, japa, etc., all sitting on the floor, something I had never seen before...
