ISKCON Bangalore (ritvik) victory over ISKCON Bombay Both are wrong. Both choose gurus by vote: some choose regular gurus, other ritviks, but always by voting. This is a very large deviation, so both are apa-sampradaya. How should one act in both institutions? Experienced devotees should act as siksha-gurus, helping as far as they can, always keeping Srila Prabhupada at the center. If someone wants to be a guru, form their own institution on their own. So they would have avoided many problems. The institutionalized "business of the guru" is very tempting, because it implies power. They measure their success by the power they have, and their power by the number of disciples. From there, everything becomes a struggle for political power in the name of spirituality
