There are two verses in the Canakya Sloka that explain how a family or institution can be glorified or reduced to ashes by one person. Canakya Pandit says that if in a forest there is only one tree that produces an aromatic and pleasant flower, that single tree can glorify the whole forest with the aroma of its flower. Similarly, if there is a tree in whose cavity there is a little fire, that same tree can turn the whole forest into ashes. This comparison can be applied anywhere. In a family, if there is a good child, he can give glory to the whole family; and, likewise, if there is a bad child, he can reduce to ashes the whole family. The same happens in this institution: if there is a bad disciple, he can burn the whole institution until it becomes ashes.
