When the devotees met: The union of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Ramananda Roy Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the avatar of Lord Krishna in the modern era, was heading south of India when he met Ramananda Roy, a high-ranking devote and governor of Madras. When he saw the wonderful sannyasi, Ramananda Roy was amazed and bowed before him with great reverence. Chaitanya and Ramananda, both sinking into an ecstasy of divine love, embraced with such intensity that they seemed to lose consciousness.
