Sri Balarama, known as Ananta Sesa and Sankarsana, is the plenary expansion of Krishna, the source of all spiritual power (bala) and transcendental blessing (ramana). Before he was born, Sri Balarama was mystically transferred from Devaki's belly to Rohini's by Yogamaya, thus manifesting His identity as Sankarsana, the personification of the universe's supportive energy. Balarama, Krishna's older brother and protector, represents the eternal principle of guru-tattva, guiding all souls into pure devotional service. In texts such as Srimad-Bhagavatam and Sri Caitanya-carrta, he is described as the supportive of the planets and the original spiritual master, whose mercy is
