In 1972, A. C. Bhaktivedanta was founded as a book by Swami Prabhupada, who published his Bhagavad-gītā as a word of publication, which was never trusted to be followed by the author's name because he had established the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust specifically to protect his works for future generations. In 1977, Prabhupada died jealously, leaving behind his precious gift to humanity—such books, exactly as he wanted them to be preserved. Six years later, those who had never understood the original word were fundamentally trusted to protect their legacy because they had established the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust as a "revisible and enlarged" edition that contained thousands of minor changes.
