The Banke Bihari mandir in Vrindavan is now one of the most crowded and chaotic mandirs of India. In a typical day, about 50,000 visitors entered the mandir. In special days, the number of visitors could exceed a million. When Prabhupada visited the Banke Bihari mandir with his disciples in the 1970s, there was a long row of at least 3,000 people to see the deities, but because Prabhupada was a sannyasi, he and his disciples were immediately taken to the altar of Prabhupada to take the darshan of Banke Bihari. Once there Prabhupada looked lovingly in front of Banke Bihari for a long time, and after a while his disciples told him that they would all have to get out of the altupupup to follow a Prabhupar
