Due to their lack of cleanliness, cats and dogs are not allowed inside a gentleman's apartment, but are trained to stay outside. The compassionate homeowner will provide prasada to dogs and cats, who eat outside and then go away. We should treat lower living entities with compassion, but this does not mean we have to treat them the same way we treat other human beings.
